Urgent Action Fund for Feminist Activism provides fast, flexible funding to women, trans, and non-binary activists who take and face enormous risks to challenge oppressive systems and build a more just and equitable world. Our holistic resources enable frontline feminist movements to respond to real-time threats and opportunities, protect and care for themselves and one another, and sustain and propel solutions to the most critical crises and injustices of our time.
Centering Feminist Activist Voices
Centering Feminist Activist Voices
Feminist Activism Without Fear sprang from a series of conversations Urgent Action Fund for Feminist Activism had with grantee partners about the rise in—and expanded nature of—backlash against feminist activists. Urgent Action Fund for Feminist Activism then invited activists to share their insights and experiences, conducting additional interviews with human rights practitioners in the field.
Feminist Activism Without Fear centers the stories, voices, and expertise of activists and movements across the Middle East, Europe, the Balkans, the Caucasus, Turkey, Central Asia, Russia, Canada, and the United States. In most cases, names have been changed, while other identifying details such as country of origin are omitted to protect the identity of the activists, their organizations, and movements.
It continues to be a risk to speak out and stand up for too many. Thus, the voices represented here are a fraction of the many feminist activists who are facing and taking risks for a just world, around the world. We plan to incorporate additional activist voices and perspectives as the campaign grows. If you have a story to share, please contact us privately at urgentact@protonmail.com.
Join us as we support feminist activists and movements in centering collective care and building collective power—freely, without fear.
